WECN-LA (pronounced We Can LA) is a dedicated charitable program based in the city of Los Angeles, standing for Worker Empowerment Community Network in Los Angeles.
We are passionate individuals committed to uplifting workers within the food chain industry by addressing their unique challenges. Our mission is to foster empowerment and unite diverse individuals in support of one another. After several years of organizing within the restaurant community, we saw the urgent need to create WECN-LA as a program that can continue to provide ongoing support to food chain workers, all while remaining focused on helping restaurant workers.
Our goal is to create a society that honors food chain industry workers and acknowledges their vital role in our communities. Together, we combat racism and sexism in the workplace. By empowering individuals to understand their rights and advocating for political representation, we ignite a movement for change. Through organizing, education, training, and activism, we illuminate the path to a fairer workplace. We extend membership to anyone who wants to advocate for a just workplace or is interested in continuing education to develop skills for job advancement and become leaders in knowing their rights as workplace organizers.
We welcome like-minded individuals who are committed to making a difference through hard work and dedication.
